Q: Dashboard speakers are blown out. How do I know which replacement speakers to get? Do I measure the speaker?
I own a 1996, 4 door, Geo Tracker. I love blaring music, so if you can help me with which brand of speakers works well and are cheap, that could help me out a lot too. I just don’t know if they have to be a certain size to fit in the dashboard, or any other speaker outlet in my car.
I’m clueless about this.
Thanks for the help!
=)
A: yes you need a specific size most likely crutchfield.com will help you find out what size the speakers are, but dont bother looking on there to buy speakers cause that site is overpriced. check out these sites for good prices

Q: Where can I find a dashboard for a Ford Bronco II?
Im looking for a replacement dashboard for my Ford Bronco II 1986. It has a pretty big crack in it and Im trying to fix it up a bit. Does anyone know where I can buy one? Not a cover, but the actual dashboard itself. All I seem to find are the covers… I can’t even find an after market. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
A: Try a junk yard. Or you might try LMC.com
Q: where can i order replacement parts online for my dashboard on my 2007 mustang besides Ford dealership?
A: www.teamfordparts.com, or www.newtakeoff.com were you can buy parts that people sell after they modify their cars.
Q: Dashboard Instrument Panel light bulb replacement with LED?
I want to replace my bulbs in my dashboard. The bulb name in my dashboard is #74, with the twist-lock base. I’ve popped out the #74 bulb already and would like to know, if I can use a standard LED in its place with any problems?
*note it’s not the #74 LED bulb that you can buy online, its one of those standard LED bulbs with anode and cathode (short & long pins)
thanks V.much I will just buy some from the online store
A: Responding to your *note: “its one of those standard LED bulbs with anode and cathode (short & long pins)”
No, you cannot use that standard type of LED to DIRECTLY replace a 12 volt incandescent lamp, because doing so would instantly burn it out.
Typically, these require a CURRENT LIMITED source, and operate at, usually 2 to 4 volts, @ 20 mA.
What you CAN do, to use these LEDs on 12 V, is to place a resistor in series with them. (A 470 ohm, 1/2 watt usually is about right.) The resistor will limit the current into the diode to it’s normal operating level.
But it is BARELY worth the trouble, and you are better off, just buying the LED exact replacement, if you want LED dash lamps.
Sorry.
BTW, There ARE wire lead (baseless) LEDs which will run on 12 volts, but these are not the “standard” type as per your question.
Q: 2001 Honda Accord Dashboard Light Replacement.?
I was wondering if anyone knew how to replace the lightbulb that lights up the dashboard/speedometer/radio in a 2001 Honda Accord v6 sedan. I think it’s a little too dim and wanted something brighter and possibly a different color. If anyone knows how to do this or somewhere that does this please let me know. I tried searching for pages that have instructions but couldn’t find any. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
A: Better fit new bulbs, higher watts will damage the printed circuits by heat.
Q: ‘98 Accord: Some dashboard lights are out after factory stereo replacement. Fuses look ok. Any thoughts?
I have a 1998 Honda Accord. I replaced the factory stereo with a popular after market brand. Now, the following lights do not work on my dashboard (when the lights are turned on at night):
Odometer display (LCD numbers appear but will not be illuminated; gas, oil pressure, tach and speedometer lights work)
Interior temperature dial
Interior temperature display (LCD numbers work, but no illumination on screen)
“Auto” button illumination
A/C button illumination
If all of the fuses are in fact in working order, which I am 95% certain all fuses are in working order, I suspect my symptoms indicate a wiring problem created by the factory stereo replacement. Does anyone have any experience with these symptoms? Has anyone been able to identify the problem? Most importantly, has anyone been able to get all of the interior dashboard lights working?
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Thanks for your suggestions. I checked the fuses and I believe they are all intact. Additionally, the pairs of fuse / breaker combinations do not indicate any blown fuses.
So…I’m 90% sure it must be a wiring thing. I haven’t mustered up the courage (or time) to take apart the dashboard.
Thank you very much for your assistance!
A: This is a common problem, you need to check all wiring connections, they must be tight, the bulbs may be burned out, but I suspect it’s just a lose connection somewhere breaking that circuit. (what you describe is all on one circuit) re-check the fuse, you can’t go by looking at it, try another, or test the fuse again first. You may have to go as far as pulling the dash (hard work) to get your multimeter to the sockets to check continuity.(tiny 12 volt bulbs) , it is unlikely that you would have several blow at once, so it is probably a coroded or lose wire. An experienced mechanic at a dealer who has seen this over and over and over, could give both of us a better answer. I elected to just carry a small flashlight in my armwrest to see what buttons to push at night. Because I hate having to pay top dollar for that experience.
Q: Ford KA dashboard light replacement………?
Anyone know how to replace the main dashboard light. I have checked the fuses and all are fine, all other lights are working. So must be the bulb, any advise thanks.
A: You can find replacement dash lights at LED Outfitters. Go to http://www.ledoutfitters.com/index.php?target=categories&category_id=7
There are many to choose from!
Q: rover 75 dashboard clock replacement?
has anyone ever replaced the clock in a rover75 any help and I would be very grateful
brianbucha@yahoo.com
thanks
A: All I can offer is my experience on my ‘83 caprice. Clock was high on the dash and was accessed by removing the dash shelf that tops the dash. Just a few obvious screws removed loosened the shelf and careful lifting and pulling away exposed the inner dash framework. The shelf had allignment tabs near the glass that worked like battery compartment casings on many devices. I had access to headlight switch ,clock and many other parts.Bulbs were easy to replace and air ductwork was easy to clean.I hope this helps.
Q: where can i find a car dashboard for my barracuda?
i have a 1969 barracuda that is in great shap overall besides the dashboard. it is cracked and bent and pretty beaten up. I was wanting to know where i could find a replacement dashboard that is in good condition or if there are any places i could buy a brand new aftermarket one from that would fit my car…. i have also thought about custom making one out of fiberglass or something of that sort and advice or tips would be greatly appreciated thanks
A: Try year one
Q: How many days would it take to get a replacement Halo 3 disc?
I heard that many of the limited edition halo 3 discs (the $70 version) are scratched and unfortunately I have one of them. After the fifth chapter of the game (with the Flood) the dashboard pops up with the “Disc Unreadable” message. I read that Microsoft is offering replacement discs from now until December 31st. If I send mine in, how long will it take to get a new one sent back to me?
I got it from Best Buy. They might still have some in stock because there was still a bunch of them yesterday afternoon. There was some marks on both discs but nothing that I assumed would damage them.
A: i believe it would take roughly 2 weeks to have it back from UK because the microsoft repair center is in UK! Gah! Also, I think you have to provide the shipping fee which is so absurd. Why would we need to pay for repairing THEIR lousy product!?!
Q: why is my dashboard light goes on and off while i drive?
I have purchased a used 2001 Nissan Altima two years ago. The dashboard light started turning on and off just recently. It never goes on right away whenever I started my car. Sometimes it goes on for a few seconds or minutes then the light will turn off again and then for a few minutes it’ll come back on. For a couple of times already it went off in the middle of my driving and the light came back for about 10minutes. I wonder what should I do? Or if the dashboard or just the light itself needs a replacement? How much do you think for an estimate it’ll cost? It just worried me about driving at night time because I can’t see how much speed I have. I usually just stayed in the slowest lane so I can estimate my speed behind somebody else’s car =).
thank you for the respond! i appreciate it. i was already thinking that it could be disconnection or a bulb but i’m scared to kow that the whole dashboard system could be replaced and will cost me a fortune =). i hope not…
A: I would get it checked the electrical connections may be corroded. There must be a loose connection somewhere. Take it to dealer and get a written estimate. Or take it to a technician you trust and knows your car.
Q: I’m looking for a replacement part for my ‘98 Ford Explorer, can you help?
The center trim piece that hold the radio in recently broke. I want to find the replacement piece on the internet and pop it in myself, but I don’t know what the name of it is. Can anyone help? It’s a black piece that goes over the radio and temp controls. It has a few snaps on the back that just pop into the dashboard, all of which are broken on my current part. Thanks for any help you can offer!
A: Go to a Ford Dealer
Q: Where can I find a new dashboard for my honda civic?
I don’t want one off an old honda; I want an unused dash. I don’t want a dash cover either; I want a full replacement.
A: Here you go!
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/PartsSearch.jsp
http://www.bkhondaparts.com/billkay/jsp/home.jsp
http://www.handa-accessories.com/honda.html
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=215023
I suggest you buy it online cause if you buy OEM New Parts at the dealer… they charge like a extra $30.00 -$50.00
But since you’re buying a Dashboard… it might not make a difference since a Dashboard is big and shipping cost might cost a lot!
Why won’t you just buy used? ebay.com and people on Craigslist.org sell them! and its only around from $50-$100!!! Nothings wrong with used!
Q: Cruise control button light bulb replacement in a 1997 honda civic.?
I need to replace the light bulbs in the button for my cruise control in a 1997 honda civic, but all of the google searches I’ve done have yielded only the headlamps and dashboard lights. Anyone know were I can find these bulbs?
A: Most switches or buttons have the light hardwired onto the circuit board.
Solution – new switch.
