Q: Is Even Off-brand Gas really just Name-brand Gas put in a different Station?
For example, Circle K. Shell owns them and I watched a truck fill up Shell, then Circle K. But Circle K Premium gas is 92, Shell 93! And Shell is 10 cents more…

I was just typing a whole big thing and my fingers slipped, but what i was saying is ive never been shy about adding ANY Station’s gas (as long as i see SOME traffic come through it) 92 or better gas to my Jaguar. I have a 1985 Inline 6 4.2L that runs well, but is probably just dirty, im replacing the whole Fuel system from the Tank to the Pump to the Filter to the Line to the Fuel Pressure Regulator and Charcoal canister to CLEANING THE INJECTORS (and getting the Right-hand Tank and Switch functional as well) so i TRY to put 90 or better (89 at minimum, sometimes, if i am in a pinch, put 87 in it too much.. the difference is the amount of Ethanol in the gas, i CAN feel the non-Ethanol and dont believe a station with it says its Ethanol free) but…

Is Off-brand Gas the same, even stations that have ruly no name, like Uncle Max’s Gas Stop?

I fuel up in Upstate NY, Ohio, Indiana, will be Pennsylvania. Making sure the Jaguar stays a good-condition Cruiser after a major freshen-up or Restoration, its not bad but it can be better, much better. So my question applies for the “Continental USA.” Thanks

A: Usually in most cities around the country, fuel is offloaded from a refinery to holding tanks near the city. you will have tankers from all the different fuel stations in the area come and fill up at the holding station with the same fuel to be delivered to all the gas stations in that area. thats pretty much the norm. RE: Micheal…what has gas got to do with your clutch?????????, that makes absoloutely no sense at all….Also to add, some gas stations offer non-ethenol gas which is different from your regular gas offered at most stations. the ethenol is added to the tanker at fill up from the holding facility before being delivered to the gas station. It is well worth your time and money to hunt out the non-ethenol gas stations in your area ie: better fuel mileage, more power, just better over all

Q: Does anyone know where I can find non e10 gasloine, like local airsports or marinas?
In my area all gas stations now say they use oxygenated gasoline with 10 percent ethanol. We have two local small air ports for prop planes and we have a marina by the ocean. I drive a lot so the gas mileage matters to me in my economy car and we don’t have emissions im so far out here.

Would any of these places have regular non e10 gasoline?

A: Hi Jay ..

There are places in my town that advertise having gasoline with no alcohol. You
might look around some nearby towns or do a more thorough check of your town
for such a station.

I suspect airport would not sell automobile gasoline. Marina is also questionable.

I usually by my non-ethanol gasoline at a nearby convenience store – gas station.

Q: E85 Fuel, are the conversion Kits scams?
Ok our local gas station started offering E85 fuel…. I have a 2001 Dodge Durango 4×4 … I keep seeing alot of reports on how corrosive that ethanol is on non flex fuel cars, like the seals and hoses, metal parts of engine etc will be hurt/corrode etc online but , however all these sites tend to suggest a conversion kit to be able to use the fuel.. My question is what the heck does a little box that plugs into the engine somehow do that protects all these seals and hoses that are suppose to get damaged. (instead of the tank -which I would think would matter…since it is suppose to corrode everything then why do you let it run through everything before it reaches the kit) I really am starting to believe that I can run the fuel with no problems in any engine period, because I just cant find any thing to explain how this little box can do anything to the vehicle that would convince me otherwise.

Is there anyone out there who is running this fuel with no conversion on older (2002 and earlier non flex fuel vehicle) model cars that can attest to weather or not the conversion kit is a scam and a rip off or that it actually does something to the vehicle to allow it to run the fuel? thanks

Here is some additional information. I dont care so much for the loss in power or the loss in fuel consumption, the local gas station is almost $1 cheaper for E85 than unleaded… so this is really to cut costs. My vehicle has over 180000 miles on it, so it has no warranties and the cost to repair in some cases is more than the vehicle is worth so redoing the entire fuel system is out of the question. With that in mind, what would be the detrimental affect if I didnt get any conversion kits and just got new fuel filter for when it gets clogged….. considering all the gas I use is 10% ethanol already… would jumping to 80% really kill a car… I cant find any reports anywhere of this actually happening, no news stories or technical websites listing known damages caused by E85 being run in a non Flex fuel vehicle without any conversion…THe only sites I can find again are sites against E85 (with a strong political views but no scientific data, or sites for the conversion kits… but

A: Sounds like a scam to me. E85 is so new that reports of problem will be hard to come by. But if you want to be a Ginni pig go ahead.

Q: for those of you who think Obama has accomplish nothing?
Obama passed legislation with Republican Senator Jim Talent to give gas stations a tax credit for installing E85 ethanol refueling pumps. The tax credit covers 30 percent of the costs of switching one or more traditional petroleum pumps to E85, which is an 85 percent ethanol/15 percent gasoline blend.

-After a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

-His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent.

-Obama created the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income working families in 2000 and successfully sponsored a measure to make the credit permanent in 2003. The law offered about $105 million in tax relief over three years.

-Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

-As a member of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan.

-He traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world.

-Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.

- In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers, well before the current subprime crisis began.

-Obama sponsored legislation to combat predatory payday loans, and he also was credited with lobbied the state to more closely regulate some of the most egregious predatory lending practices.

-Barack Obama introduced the Patriot Employer Act of 2007 to provide a tax credit to companies that maintain or increase the number of full-time workers in America relative to those outside the US; maintain their corporate headquarters in America; pay decent wages; prepare workers for retirement; provide health insurance; and support employees who serve in the military.

-Obama worked to pass a number of laws in Illinois and Washington to improve the health of women. His accomplishments include creating a task force on cervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.

-Obama has introduced and helped pass bipartisan legislation to limit the abuse of no-bid federal contracts.

-Obama and Senator Feingold (D-WI) took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the “gold standard” for reform. It was because of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists’ bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law.

I really could list many, many more but I fear it would be too much to take in at one time. I hope this helps some of you know him a little better. Everyone seems to be jumping on his “Change” bandwagon. However, he does have the record to back it up.
haha..i know jonathan..just spreading the message..u know

Q: Mazda RX8 bad mileage, why?
My car was getting very bad gas mileage, around 170-190miles per tank….now I replaced the coils wires and plugs, now its getting around 215. What else can be causing this? Im using premium 93 fuel…. it doesn’t change depending on which station i go to. We don’t have non ethanol fuel in Massachusetts right now either. I know people with RX8’s that get around 260miles on a full tank with 80k mile son the engine… I have 53k. Also its a 2004 RX8 automatic if that makes a difference.

A: My 2008 RX-8 never got above 18mpg no matter what fuel i used. It frequently only got 16mpg. I was overjoyed if it got above 17mpg….the car isnt meant to be efficient and the Auto trans is worse yet…it is the price you pay for all that power and redline 9,000 rpm from a 1.3 liter non turbo engine. Small engine, big horsepower=bad fuel economy.
