Q: Why Do Car Modifiers Always Go For Manual?
So I’ve been checking out some cars, mainly honda-types, from tastefully modded, to race modded, to just plain riced out. One thing I’ve noticed is that the majority of these car are manual. Why is this? Is an automatic transmission “uncool” in the modifying world?

A: i also disagree with this statement. car builders build car, with automatics or manual transmissions, which ever the customer prefers. most race classes require that a manual transmission be used, but some allow an automatic. but if you go to a car show, you will find that the ratio of automatics to manual transmissions is about equal.

Q: Question for serious Car Modifiers in the UK?
I’m 18 male from Scotland and want a Toyota Supra for about age 22/23 or so. I need some good advice on how/where to modify it as close to as the same orange Supra from the Fast and The Furious at the end of the film.

I need to know if any British companies use sprays like that colour, have these custom bodykits and actually have experts to discuss the modification process//how you want something done etc.

Any tips on modding, where I can get this done etc.?

Hold on i’m not using it for hard core racing, at least not my plan, so no need for these lessons, also, im a good driver i’ve had good experience and can drive. Are you saying I can’t be serious as it’s from TFATF as it’s already been done? That’s rubbish! That’s why I want that car, since I know it can be done, and I’m only 18, I’ve not got experience in modding completely new designs nor the confidence yet.

A: Ya just start asking at auto shops and researching the internet. But make sure you het plenty of quotes to get the best price and then look out for some of their previous work.
But if you are serious about modding then the real modding is when someone picks out a certain car and does it up to their own style and uses their imagination. Just a suggestion as i always pick cars that no one has and do them up to the max and they really shock ppl. Remember you can buy many models of cars with a rare bigger engine in them that can still beat the likes of supras and look very normal everyday cars, That for me is where the fun is.

Q: can any car modifiers help me?

A: Just do it yourself. Go to a junkyard and buy a good condition 300c bumper, hood, fenders, and headlights.

Car-part.com is a good place to find a local yard.

Q: Question for car modifiers?????
How come when people change their exhaust system to a performance one, they always go for a cat-back or a cat-back with extractors and not a full whole exhaust system including all the pipes. I see a lot of people that do not change their catalytic converter to a better performance enhancing one. Is it because they are too poor or not as good?????. I want to know.

A: Usually doing the cat back system as well as the headers will give you power gains decent enough to do them. A lot of modifiers leave the catalytic converters because for one, it’s an added expense with very little effect. Secondly, smog. People don’t want to go through replacing the converters and fail the smog and then putting the old one back. Just a pain in the behind. Personally, I’d just leave the catalytic converters alone. Headers and the cat back system will do a good job in the power gains department. It’s just the beginning of the fun world of modification.

Q: Any good virtual/online car modifiers out there?
I have a 96 civic hatch and I was thinking about beautifying it a little. I’m not talking about rediculous body kits and stuff, just different colors, and alloy wheels and such, just to make it look a little cleaner and more pulled together. But it would be fun to see what crazy stuff i could do to it if i was into that stuff. I was wondering if there are any websites where you can play with a free online virtual car customizer similar to all the detailed lil things you can play with on need for speed and stuff. I found one called “hmodder” but the things you can change are pretty basic. Silly I know, but I was just curious. Thanks in advance!!

A: With Honda, the only name that is really synonymous with it is Mugen. They offer everything from bodykits to suspension.

Their bodykits are designed with aerodynamics in mind…. i.e. promoting more downforce and a slippery Cd…. so its not just eye-candy unlike many other brands out there.

Don’t know of any online car detailer… but you can see the kits they attached to cars…

Wanna work in automobile field? i love modifing cars n bikes n like to work on technicle stuff in them. But couldn’t get chance to work with local modifiers/designers. A: If you live in America and want to be around the automobile industry, move to detroit. That is your first step. If you don’t want to move, don’t bother.

If you want to be more of a grease monkey, then work at a local garage. Start by changing oil and work your way up. Take auto repair courses at a local community college.

Q: what is the name of the term for driveway car hitting car already moving in road?
I am searching for a two or three word term, in legalese perhaps, describing the right of a car (driver) already moving within a street, to, well, the right of way, versus a car turning onto the same street from a parking lot or a driveway – and the two cars collide. I recall something related to proximate cause, but it had some kind of modifier, like prohibitive proximate causation or something like that.

A: If a vehicle coming out of a driveway or alley hits or gets in the path of a moving vehicle in the roadway, it may be called “failure to yield”. But that can also apply to other situations if you do not yield to traffic that has the right of way.

Or if it is known that they just drove out without stopping, it could even be a “failure to stop”.

Q: I need help rewriting and correcting the misplaced & dangling modifiers?
