Q: How can I hook car subs up to the tv in my house?
I had to take the subs out of my car and they are setting in my living room and I want to hook them up to a tv or radio but i don’t know what I can use to power the amp with. I’m not gonna take the battery out of my car so I was wondering if there was a way to make an adapter to plug into the wall outlet. I am not going to have this be a permanent set up so I don’t want to spend to much money on this.
A: you have 3 options.
#1, take a car battery and a battery charger and hook it all up in your house (VERY STUPID IDEA)
#2, buy a huge 110 volt AC -to- 12 volt DC power inverter and hook that up with a battery in line (BETTER, BUT STILL STUPID)
#3, buy a small 110volt AC plate amp. $70-$250.

Q: How can I hook up a car amp and subs in my house?
I have a box with two 12inch interfire subs and a 1000watt amp and I want to hoop it up in my house to a regular house stereo. Can I do that and how can I do that?
A: yes i have this setup already. a 5 amp will trip just by turning it on. try 25 – 30 amp inverter. i got mine from pyramid and it works well and was cheaper then others. This one will be sufficient enough and be fine to run it. all you need now is to run a sub rca and hook it up but if it is a two channel amp. all you need is the left side of the rca’s but go buy a splitter for the rca’s to give you access to bidge it. if it’s a class d, you still need both channels to get it to run right. to get the amp turned on when you power the inverter, run a small jumper from power wire terminal to remote wire terminal.
Q: How do i hook up a car sub and amp in my house?
I have a 110volt to 12 volt converter for my wall outlet, my only problems are
1) my amp doesn’t come on unless the remote turn-on cable is hooked to my car stereo (can I override this somehow?)
2) In the car the power cable only goes to the positive node of the battery. I have a pos and neg on my converter, how would I hook this up?
A: If the converter has +12 and -12 and ground, connect it between either +12 and ground or ground and -12. To turn it on, find out what the cable connects to, and short these pins (i think… but don’t take my word on that).
Q: How do I hook up a car amplifier in my house?
I have done some research and I am still not exactly sure how to go about hooking my amp up in the house. I have an MTX TE801D amp (800watt) that I would like to hook car subs into and incorporate it into my home theater. In my other theater with custom subs I have them hooked up to an old shelf system that will not do a security shut off. There is just not enough power to them though.
So the real question I guess is what kind of power inverter would I be looking for to do this? Could anyone provide some links?
Thanks and happy holidays!
A: 1Place your amplifier and power supply in a well ventilated location, near a power outlet. The amplifier and power supply will generate heat when operating, so be sure that there is enough room around the components to let air circulate.
Step 2Measure the length of power and ground cable you’ll need. Your power and ground cables will need to reach easily from the terminals of the power supply to the terminals of the amplifier. Take into account how you’ll need to route the cables when measuring.
Step 3Cut your power cable, ground cable and remote turn-on wire to the correct length. You’ll use the measurements taken in Step 2 for this step. The remote turn-on wire is the 16-gauge insulated wire–cut it to the same length as the power cable.
Step 4Remove 1/2 inch of insulation from both ends of each cable with your wire strippers.
Step 5Twist together one end of the power and remote turn-on wire. Slip a ring terminal over the end and then crimp the terminal onto the wire with your crimp tool.
Step 6Crimp a ring terminal on one end of the ground cable.
Step 7Loosen and remove the wing nuts on your power supply’s terminals. Slide the ring terminal of the power cable onto the “+” post, and the ring terminal of the ground cable onto the “-” post. Replace the wing nuts and tighten them until the power and ground cables are securely fastened.
Step 8Loosen the Phillips screws or hex screws of the amplifier’s “+,” “-,” and “REM” terminals. Slide the bare end of the power cable into the “+” terminal, the bare end of the ground cable into the “-” terminal, and the turn-on lead into the “REM” terminal. Tighten the terminals with your Phillips screwdriver or hex wrench until the wires are securely held in place.
Step 9Plug the power supply into a wall socket and switch it on. This will turn the amplifier on.
Q: Can i hook up car speakers and subs in my house?
I want to hook up 2 JL W7’s in my house and 2 JL 6” splits! I want to put a tweeter a speaker and a sub in each box i build! They will be run by 2 amps each! 1 would be a 1000watt Jl amp and the other would just be any mono block that would run the JL split! (Havent decided yet!). Can i do this? If so how would i have to wire it and to what? I have a yellow top battery if the would help it at all!?!?
(Just to clarify it would be 1 x 12” JL W7, 1 x 6” JL Speaker, 1 x 1” Tweeter in each box. The sub being run by the 1000watt JL amp and the 6” and Tweeter being run by the small monoblock.)
A: yes I did it but i just wired the sub and speaker straight into my amp rather than using a car amp into an amp, and it worked fine. Be aware car systems are designed for cars, ie small spaces and they don’t sound amazing in a house
Q: Can I hook up a Car Sub in my house without a Car Amp?
I want to hook up a I believe a Sony Xplod 10 or 12 inch Car Subwoofer in my house without using a Car Amp or anything special. I want to hook it up as a regular speaker on my Home Theater Receiver. The Car Sub is 1000 Wats Peak and 300 watts, it come with an enclosure from Sony. My Home Theater Receiver is an Onkyo TX-SR502 that is 6.1 75 watts per channel and 6 OHMs per speaker. Is it possible? there is a guy that says that it is possible and has a video on youtube showing it I emailed him but got no response he responded like weeks ago to me saying its possible and he wold teach me how to do it to but now no response. Can somebody tell me how to do it without a Car Sub, PSU, Battery just regular Speaker Cable.
Thanks
A: likelt the sub is 4 ohms and should work but u likely cannot crank it up so keep the volume down until you can establish if it would harm your reciever, listen and look for strange cone movements and strange sounds or distortion.
if the subs are 2 ohms do not even try it.
Q: how to hook up a house sub to your car radio?
its just 1 big box with two subs in it what would i need to hook them up
A: the simplest way without spending money would be to take out a speaker in your car and plug the two wires going to that speaker into the back of the enclosure with the subs
ok i have to tell you thes if the enclosure says anything but 4 ohms you can fry your system also pluging these in this way will not make your system louder just bigger
ok the real way you should do it is to get an aftermarket head with rca outpus and a new amp for the subs that has a low pass filter and plug the home audio subs into that but once again if there anything under 2 or 4 ohms youll fry the amp and home audio equipptment is not the same ohm load as car audio equiptment
good luck with whatever you do
Q: can i hook up a car subwoofer in my house?
i live in a house and i would like 2 no if there is a way to use a car sub in my house? how do i hook it up? what do i need i have the sub in box tha sub is a 1200 watt marine sub
A: hi, i live in a house too….
it’s not the best set up but it will make noise. the marine subwoofer, like most in the 12v arena, operates at 4ohms. the home audio areana, however, is typically 8-16ohms. you’ll take a chance on damaging whatever power source you might have. also, most home theater amplifiers/receivers have full range output and no low pass filter or crossover. this means that you’ll hear very muddy sounding vocals from your subwoofer instead of the 80hz and below that it should be playing.
Q: How do you hook up a car amp and stereo to work in your house?
I went to a flea market some time ago, where they sold audio accessories and they had stereos, amps, equalizers and subs hooked up and playing. How do you do this?
A: Besides bringing a car battery into your house, which will only last a few hours. You will have to buy a converter. AC/DC. You will have to have a converter to handle 12 volts and at least 30 amps. A cheap 40 amp will cost you at least $100 OR more. my suggestion is just buy a home amp or receiver and hook up your speakers through that.(that’s for your amp) as far as the radio or CB you can just use any cheap AC/DC converter. You can get one from walmart for 20 buck. Just cut the cord connect the wires where they need to go and wallah. Your done.
Q: what do i need to hook up a car subwoofer inside my house?
i have two tens,in a box, an amp, a sony home stereo, i bought a setup kit for the subs but the kit was meant to hook up in a car. it came with a really large wire with a fuse in the middle of it. i know i need an AC/DC converter, but i dont know how many amps the converter needs to be. i think its amps anyways. and how do i use the converter for what i need?
A: This computer power supply has a 30amp 12volt rail. That’s good for approx. 300 watts. If the fuse on your amp is 30amps or less, this could work for you. Not bad for $45 shipped.

Q: How can I hook up my car system in my house?
Some Aholes recked into my ride and now its just sittin in my drive way…. i want to take out my system a bump it inside my room… but how can i power it up? im planning to take out my subs, 6X9’s, 2 amps, the in-dash, and even the capacitor… DO NOT suggest me to hook it up to a car battery since that would eventually die out…. oh yeah, and how would i power up “remote”
A: RADIO SHACK – get a 12 volt AC/DC filtered transformer and hook the beast up. Just make sure it has enough wattage to drive your system.
OR – use your car battery with a battery charger hooked up to it. That’s how I run my system in the garage. Not ‘’state of the art”, but at least I have tunes.
Q: How to hook up a sub woofer and amp in my house with a car battery?
I have:
A head unit.
12″ Kicker in box
Power acoustic 900 watt amp
Wiring kit
Car battery
How do i play the sub in my house?
Mainly what I need to know about is grounding. What are some good groundings in a mobile home? What are the bad ones? Is grounding an amp to the outside shell ok?
If I have a car battery what should I ground it to? Do I even have to ground the battery if I am connecting the battery to the amp and then grounding the amp?
Also, the amp has a Line Input and a Line Out for the Audio cables, which one should i use?
If you can answer my questions, Thanks in advance
A: I have a subwoofer with an amp running using a power supply from radio shack. It allows for the a/c voltage in your house to convert to d/c voltage. Just plug it into the wall outlet, plug a power wire from the positive from the power supply to the power to the amp, you will also need to plug the remote wire into the positive lead on the power supply. The take a ground wire from the negative lead of the power supply and run it to the ground on the amp. You will need a 20-25 amp power supply, and higher if you want more bass.
Q: how do I hook up my sub in my house?
I have a 600 watt amp and a single 12″ sub and was wondering how to hook it up in my home so I can run it off my computer to test bass for my other speakers instead of running out to the car every time?
A: You need to get a 12V DC adapter so you can hook your amp up in the house. You will also need AV outputs coming from your computer, or you could use some kind of an adapter from the regular 1-prong speaker output plug to convert to AV outputs. Plug the AV outputs into your amp and then hook up some speaker wire from your amp to the speaker. Also make sure you attach power to the remote input on your amp. It will not turn on without this.
Do not try attaching your sub to a regular home stereo. Car speakers are usually 4 ohms impedance, while home stereos are usually 8 ohms impedance. You could damage your sub if you do this.
Q: How do you test a subwoofer without hooking it up to your car?
This guy i know bought a house to knock down and he said i can take whatever is in the house. I found a bazooka car sub in the garage. It has a amplifier attached to it, and i had to clean out the enclosure because it had leaves in it. It was sitting in there for awhile. Idk if it works and i dont want to buy the cables to hook it up and find it doesent work. Is there another way of testing it without wiring it to the car, as well as the amplifier.
A: there is actually a few ways to do it, first, if u you have some speaker wire, hook it to the sub, then with a AA touch the positive of the battery on the positive on the sub and negative to negative, if the sub moves, it works. Second, if you have a home surround sound system, hook it up and see how it sounds. and lastly, if you have a best buy in your area, they test the subs for free, so try those out and good luck!
Q: how to install car audio in your house?
how can u hook up a car deck, sub, and amp in your house?
A: Just to give you an idea…
A 13.8 volt DC 25 ampere bench-top power supply will run a 350 watt RMS total system at the cost of about $100.

Wake up sleepy, you have it backwords.
“The converter box will convert from 12V DC to 120 AC.” is wrong. I don’t know of any 120 volts car stereos.
