A: take a look a the Malibu Maxx lt. great performance from a Saab chassis, 200hp V6 that get into the 30+ mpg hwy, five doors and a very large back seat area with adjustable seats that fold down to carry larger loads.

telescoping/tilt steering wheel, car fits small through large drivers.

we have one and love it.

Q: Are 1969 Chevy Impalas good cars?
I don’t know too much about Impalas, thinking about getting one as a project car, any thoughts
It runs just fine, 5.7L 350 with 370hps
only paying $275.00
quite a bit of cosmetic work

A: Yes it is a good car – forget the idiots.
They obviously know nothing about classics.

Obviously it is a heavy car it is made of steel not plastic, so yes it will out weight 3 Hondas.LOL.

There are several aftermarket places that carry several parts from body , suspention, chrome, interior pieces. Pretty much everything you will need to restore it to like new contition.

These are pretty popular cars for car shows. Perfect for cruising.

And they are a blast on the drag strip if your lucky and have a 427 big block laying in between the fenders.

Q: I’m thinking of buying a 2007 Chevy Impala, are they good cars ? How much $ can I get one for ?

A: Here is what should prompt concern about the Chevrolet Impala:

(1) The 2006 V6 and the 2007 V8 Chevrolet Impalas are on Consumer Reports’ 2008 list of Used Cars to Avoid.

(2) The V6 Chevrolet Impala is on AutoOnInfo.net’s list of the Worst Automobiles of 2008, with a Composite Reliability Score of -.10 on a scale of -1.00 to 1.00.

(3) The V6 Chevrolet Impala is on AutoOnInfo.net’s 2008 list of the Automobiles with Worst Engine Reliability, with a Composite Reliability Score of -.75 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.

(4) The V6 Chevrolet Impala is on AutoOnInfo.net’s 2008 list of the Automobiles with Worst Transmission Reliability, with a Composite Reliability Score of -1.00 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.

(5) The 5-year Reliability Percentrank average for the V6 Chevrolet Impala is .28 on a scale of 0.00 to 1.00. For reference, the Chevrolet line has an overall 5-year average of .32, General Motors’ overall average is .31, Honda’s overall average is .84, and Toyota’s overall average is .89.

(6) The Chevrolet line overwhelming dominates Consumer Reports’ 2008 list of Used Cars to Avoid.

(7) AutoOnInfo.net’s detailed reliability and durability studies suggest that a typical 3-year-old Chevrolet is as troublesome to own as a typical 26-year-old Honda and a typical 19-year-old Toyota.

It is likely best to offer very, very little.

Q: Why are most police cars Chevy impala’s? Whats so good about that car?

A: most police cars in this country are Ford Crown Vics. It is somewhere around 74% of the marked police cars in the United States are Crown Vics. They had a report on CNN about 8 months ago on the different marked and unmarked cars used by Police in the United States. The Police said they really liked the crown vic because of there size, speed, and agility. They are big enough to put crooks in the back and in the front there is enough room for not only 2 people but also all the radio and computer stuff. They also mentioned the trunks in the crown vics were very large. I didnt know this until I watched the show, but now they line the trunks with kevelar at the Ford factory so they can withstand extremely high speed rear impact collisions. They come with the same 300hp 4.6L 3valve engine that is in the ford gt mustang. They also have upgraded brakes and suspension, with all of that they do pretty well as far as handling and speed goes. They obviously have the top speed limiter disconnected and a switch that comes with them to turn all air bags in the car off. The other vehicals that were mentioned were the impalas, dodge charger, and some suv’s. It sounds like there is a possibility that maybe some day realitively soon a lot of the police departments might switch to the dodge chargers though. They offer the same room but the dogde has a larger more powerful engine which in todays world the police say they really need and appreciate. I am a firefighter in Scottsdale, Arizona and a lot of the police here are starting to drive more and more chargers and I am seeing much less of the crown vics.

Like I said, crown vics are still used in all police departments. When a vehical is recalled it doesnt mean that vehicle is removed from the road permently, it means that it is brought to the manufacurer, fixed, and put back on the road. Here is my source to back all of my information, it talks about how as of now, 80% of police cars on the road are crown vics and it talks about the kelvar lined trunk that I mentioned previously.

Q: 2001 Chevy Impala Good Car?
So i was looking online and saw a 2001 Chevy Impala. Nice, nice car. Red with sunroof and all the good stuff. It is 4,995. It has 126,945 miles on it. Would this be a car that i should go and look at or leave it be because of the miles?

This will be my first car by the way. It can’t be over 5,000.

I need a bigger car i am a tall person. It is in our price range. Is this to many miles for this car?

A: a chevy is one of the worst cars you can ever buy. everything in it thats standard is so simple and cheap. they only pay attention to big details on the outside of the cars. it has WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too many miles on it. im surprised the car still runs. toyotas and hondas are what you should look for. theyre good for atleast 200,000 miles. theyre very reliable and have more attention to small details inside and out. things in chevys, fords, gmcs, mercurys and the rest of american built cars break VERYY easy. many people from my personal experience that i know has come to find that they are not reliable cars at all. good luck, im tall too. actually, try sitting in a honda civic. youll be surprised at how much room it has. but if you want a bigger car, go for a honda accord or a toyota camry.

Q: Is the Chevy Impala a good car buy?
Just begining my car shopping. I currently have a Dodge Stratus and want another mid-size sedan. I’ve been fairly happy w/ the Stratus but wanting to try something else. So far I’m leaning towards the Impala. Just curious if people have had good experiences with the new ones. Thanks.
I appreciate personal opinions. However, I am a serious car buyer and would appreciate serious experienced answers rather than opinion. Thanks

A: the impala is a great all around car…the engine is very reliable with plenty of power. the tranny is good…has a low failure rate. is an attractive car in my opinion but with a nice set of rims has alot of potential….my g/f mom owns one and i have yet to here her say can you fix this for me…being the family mechanic that i gotta be…i would consider the impala…all the city police officers in town drive them….however if your looking for some even better power…get the SS

Q: 2007 Chevy Impala LS, Good car?
I was going to get a 2007 Chevy malibu but I have seen Impala’s around town and they look pretty sweet. Are the 2007 Chevy Impala LS’s good cars? pros, cons?

A: the new malibu is sweet makes the impala old folks car

Q: Is the 2009 Chevy Impala a good car?
The 09 Chevy Impala(silver) is going to be my first car, and I was just wondering what you think of it. Is it comfortable/cute/safe? Good teenage car?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Looking to buy a 2004-2005 Chevy Impala…..are they good cars?

A: Here check out this website, they tell you a lot about the car…

Q: Where can I buy good conditioned 1960-1970 Chevy Impalas?
Yeah I was wondering where I could buy good conditioned Chevy impalas manufactured from the years 1960-1970 in Illinois or the internet. The car must be in good condition.

A: Usually, Autotrader’s sister site, Collectorcartraderonline.com is pretty good. Hemmings is also good, but usually those are already restored and high-dollar.

Q: Is a 2004 Chevy Impala a good car?
Just curious…if anyone has one, have you been satisfied with it?

A: we have an 06 impala and i love it. we have 3 kids 2 that are in car seats and we have plenty of room in the back seat plus the trunk is huge. we traded an 2000 Chrystel town and country for it last year because of gas and the impala gets about 28 mpg. so if you need the room and want to save on gas i say it is great.

Q: 2000 Chevy Impala? I don’t know much about cars, can you help me?
97,000 miles
Excellent shape

But I have a few questions…

1. it was kind of hard to shift the gears, like from park to reverse. is this normal?
2. when the car was idle, it shook almost like it was going to stall, does this mean the idle just needs turned up?
3. are 2000 chevy impalas “good” cars?

Any information you can give me is very appreciated.

Thanks so much!

A: GM Makes a good product. The impala is a sturdy car, good enough for police cars in some places.

You may have a sticking shift cable or shift interlock solenoid. They get corroded and dont work so well, especially when cold. It will likely get worse before it gets better.

The funky idle is usually caused by a dirty throttle body. The idle air control passages will gunk up and the car has trouble maintaining idle. Clean the throttle body out with carb cleaner and a rag or old toothbrush. Do not attempt to turn up the idle on a new car, it is set from the factory. You may have a misfire or sensor problem but the check engine light would be on.

They are good cars. Nothing wrong with em.

Q: 2001 Chevy Impala with 122,000 miles good buy for $2750?
I’m looking for a new used car and found this one and it seems pretty good. there is some rust but its 8 years old so that is expected. the interior is clean and the engine is really quiet. it seems like a great buy but are there too many miles on it. i’m looking for a car to last me atleast 3 years with probably 10-12 thousand miles a year. any opinions? are impalas good cars? do the engines have a lot of problems with high mileage?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Are chevy impala low rider 60-70s good cars?
are they and how much would there new price range be?

A: My 2008 Chevrolet Impala cost $18,749.00. I didn’t trade in my beloved 1988 custom Chevrolet Good Times Van, which is still the best new vehicle I ever bought and still running with no problems. Just that the back door latches have broken. (Should have had them fixed.)

This new Impala is comfortable, gets great gas mileage, the surround sound on the radio is fantastic and the interior is luscious.

Only thing I don’t like is it’s a low profile and after driving a high profile van for 20 years, I miss sitting up high. The van was easy to get into, and so is the Impala. The van was easy to “slide” out of, and the Impala is a bit of a problem (I’m 5′10″) and have to push off to get out.

60-70’s low rider? I don’t know the cost of those, but you can make a “low rider” out of this 2008 model.

Q: Would a 2003 Chevy impala be a good first car for a 16 year old?
Im just wondering for my son if an Impala would be a good first car for him, also it wouldnt be the ss version. And is insurance expensive for that type of car?

A: personally YES its a gm. it aint a crappy ford. i wanted my first car to be an impala but i got a 2001 oldsmobile instead which i am still happy with being that it is a gm vehicle
